DIY Wedding Series: Parent Gifts
Welcome back to my DIY wedding series!
Today, I will share how I made these sweet song-lyric pictures for my mom and mother-in-law. They both helped us pay for our wedding, so we wanted to give a thank-you gift to them. This gift is for the parents who will be dancing with you at your wedding.
I saw this idea on Etsy, but each one cost about $40 each. I knew I could create my own version by using Canva and my printer, so I did. In Canva, I inserted a picture of me and my mom in the center of the page. I then copied and pasted our wedding dance song lyrics into a textbox and moved the text around the picture. You can choose any font you'd like, but I used Pinyon Script. I copied that same concept for my husband and his mom. I downloaded them as a PDF and printed them on photo paper. You can choose any size you want, but I did 8.5"x11". I then placed each photo into an 11x14in frame. I got mine for $6.49 each at Hobby Lobby; however, you can choose any frame you'd like! This was a fun DIY gift to make, and one our parents can keep forever. I absolutely love how it turned out, and our moms did too!
This gift would also be so sweet to give to a dad or anyone else special in your life.
For this project, you will need:
- Canva free account
- Photo of you and whoever you are giving it to
- Photo paper or any paper of choice (I used 8.5"x11" HP Everyday Photo Paper)
- A printer (any)
- Picture frame (I used the 11x14in Black Floating Frame from Hobby Lobby)
